Club Makes Donation to Lake George Association

Questions and Answers

Q: How much does it cost to join the club?

A: There is no annual fee required, but a contribution would be appreciated to offset our club expenses.

Q: How else does the club raise funds?

A: With only two meetings a year, raising funds is very hard.  Profits from the sale of club t-shirts, posters, travel bags, videos and books contribute along with club raffle funds.

Q: Can we buy club gifts for Christmas or birthday presents all year long?

A: Yes, contact your club president and place your order and the items will be shipped to your home.

A club donation was sent to the Lake George Association to show support for the island restoration fund.  This fund specifically sets monies aside to prevent erosion of the islands of which there are two hundred on Lake George.  Club member, John Lefner has been appointed by the Lake George Association to head a team of volunteers to place large stones on the leading edge of the island to prevent water erosion and the eventual loss of the island and its trees.  After a meeting with New York State Environmental Conservation Department and the Lake George Association it was determined that the first island to be protected would be Happy Family Island located in Harris Bay at the southeast

portion of the lake.  John has ordered tons of rocks and has volunteers with barges to transport the rocks out to the island and will be tackling this project very soon.  Great job John, keep up the good work!   If you would like to make a donation to help John's work please send a check to:

Make your check payable to the Lake George Association but make a note that you would like it deposited to the account of the island restoration fund.
